History

Reverend Jim Ormiston and the Congregation of the Yellowknife United Church had a vision for a multi-purpose building that would meet the housing, social and spiritual needs of a growing community. The doors of Northern United Place opened on November 7, 1976 and the NWT Community Services Corporation was created as the legal entity to manage the building and the commercial and residential tenants.
